JAMES Rosenfield
Part real estate developer, historic preservationist, community builder and artist, James S. Rosenfield owns and manages the J.S. Rosenfield & Co. real estate portfolio. Varied interests and a circuitous route in politics, art, architecture, community, and small business, led Rosenfield to the world of real estate development.
Rosenfield represented Sears Roebuck & Co. in California, acted as Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s U.S. retail practice, consulted for Westfield, and was a professor of practice at University of California, Los Angeles, for 15 years.
Rosenfield’s early career experience culminated when he realized his lifelong dream to own the Brentwood Country Mart in 2003. With the Brentwood Country Mart and every subsequent project, Rosenfield has adopted a holistic and community-minded approach paying homage to the past while intuitively perceiving the ever-evolving recipe for the future success of retail.
Living and working in the communities J.S. Rosenfield & Co. serves, James splits his time between Marin, Los Angeles and Montecito with his wife, Heather, and their four sons.
