A Los Angeles institution since 1948, the Brentwood Country Mart offers a multitude of shops in one stop: eateries, independent merchants, specialized services, and community events. Designed by architect Rowland Crawford, the board-and-batten barns evokes an early American or English country marketplace, with shops and stalls arranged around a central courtyard for the community to gather. It is here beneath the 1950s-era red barn building that you will find luxury brands such as James Perse, goop, Capitol and Christian Louboutin, among beloved local independents such as the neighborhood post office, shoe repair, barbershop, and toy store. Today, Brentwood Country Mart stands as a center for the local community, and a destination for guests the world over to shop, dine, and enjoy a piece of L.A.’s historic past.
